U•Center 2, the office building developed by Forte Partners, has implemented the WasteTracker system in close collaboration with ATALIAN, the facility management partner for U•Center to monitor and reduce waste, becoming one of the first buildings in Romania with a smart “waste meter.”
At U•Center 2, every waste bag becomes a source of insight. Using a WasteTracker terminal, featuring a large scale, industrial touch screen and card reader, operators simply scan a tenant’s card, select the waste type and weigh the bag. Instantly, the data flows to a secure web platform, transforming routine disposal into actionable intelligence. Tenants gain direct access to their own reports, while the building manager sees the bigger picture in real time. This smart system not only ensures accuracy and accountability but also empowers the entire community to track performance and drive sustainability forward.
“Bucharest generates over 1.3 million tons of municipal waste per year, and globally the amount could rise by 70% by 2050 if we change nothing.
